The final leg of Optima's 2022 Search for the Ultimate Street Car Challenge really put us to the test. Super-cold track mornings and racing into a brutally sunrise gave way to perfect 70 degree afternoon conditions; unfortunately mechanical failures kept the Racing Team busy. Our new Whipple 3.0 supercharger rocketed Born Again Blazer out of turns and down straights like never before.. but the added pressure effected gaskets and the clutch. We were disappointed not to complete all of the weekend's activities, however we were able to qualify to attend Optima's Ultimate Street Car Invitational at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas! Many thanks and much love to our mechanic & builder Jessie Bough, Frankie Trutanic of P2 Fabrication and Thayer McDonald who donated parts from his '07 Silverado = The Lot Lizard to keep us on the track as long as possible. Now that's a racing family!
