1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer
This old-school SUV came out of the front yard of a trailer in Anaconda Montana. It had been damaged in a previous life and was rotting away. Laid-Back Garage adopted this old girl, got rid of the old stuff and completely transformed her into the Born Again Blazer. This wasn’t about restoring a Blazer. This was about creating a true performance vehicle which was built for the track...and street. We hooked up with Speedtech Performance out of St. George, Utah, and put their Extreme autocross chassis underneath this vintage vehicle. A tuned GM Performance engine sporting Whipple supercharger mattered to a BMW dual clutch transmission were added to give it the “GO” it needed. This vehicle is currently competing in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge series.
